Goodbye and Hello

It is time for us to say goodbye to yet another year of our lives. Marked not by the day we were born but the day God gave us Jesus, and the celebration heard around the world, January 1st. Did you know that the celebration of the New Year is the only universal holiday – spans every nation, every continent, every religion, every person. January 1st… the mark of a fresh new start. New resolutions: a better year, whatever that means to you as an individual. Laughingly we look back at the prediction for the apocalypse and smugly announce that we made it past 12/21/12. We even had the chance to see 12/12/12 (a first and last for us).

What does this all mean to you, to me, to our world?

In the next few weeks the tales that will unfold here are not about 2013 but about 2012. No, I’m not intending to relive the past but work with Pastor Bill to bring a better tomorrow through history. It is not the kind of history that belabors on the ill, nor a PBS special to sleep through.

This stuff is about taking history and squashing its lights out so we can have a better, brighter, longer future.

Here is the plan…

We are opening with The Broken World and from there we will revisit the Holiest of Holidays – Christmas, and all that it brings. We may be talking about a lack of snow in July, and that is okay, as long as the message is coming through – Pesos: Trust, Credo: Believe.

God has no limit
no set schedule
no month to follow
(other than guiding us to high times of recognition
for the gifts he delivered unto us,
his biggest gift being his son,

So here we jump off the cliff, once again, and venture forth. Mixed with prose, poems, songs, lyrics, scripture, thoughts, attitude, and a willingness to open your mind to all the possibilities that exist beyond where you are today.

Thank you for taking this journey with us, all, at PCC, and allowing me the opportunity to help through words not of my own but of Pastor Bill’s and God’s guiding hand. I am honored to be in this place, with you.

So, goodbye 2012, as you will be missed and welcome 2013 with all the glory you have to offer each and every one of us.

May this be the best year yet!

Stay at home Mom of 3 boys, 1 goofy dog, 2 wickedly crazy cats, and a traveling husband. Ah, what can be better? It's a full life without a doubt.
