It’s not my fault …

Steve Johnson … player for the Buffalo Bills football team … drops what should have been an easy catch in the end zone that would have given his team the win against Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon.  Does he take responsibility for the dropped pass?  No, he blames … God.

He posted on his twitter account:

“I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!!” AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS??? HOW???!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO…”

Wow!  I’m sure after the criticism he receives for this comment, that we’ll read that he was “just joking” or something like that.  But maybe a few things he could learn from this are …

Gratitude … that he gets paid big $$ for playing a game.

Humility … that without the talent God has fostered in him, he wouldn’t be playing on an NFL team.

Responsibility … he made a mistake.  It may have been embarrassing for hime, but that’s the way things go sometimes.  Buffalo fans may have thought so, but it’s not the end of the world.

In the NY Times article that I’ve linked to below, it does quote Mr. Johnson as saying, after the game, “”I had the game in my hands and I dropped it. Humbled. Humbled.”
